Intro: D - G - A - D - G

D G A D
I stood on faith, and the corner of ambition
               G A D
I came here to sink or swim, and to show them all
               G A
That they were wrong, and though I never thought I'd make it this far
D G A D
So the curtains are down. For the moment I was someone
                        D G
There were those in the ??? (Don't know this line)
A D G
who came this way. Now they're gone.
A D
But there's always someone at home who never forgets who you are.
              A Bm7
And when I'm down and I'm growin' old, it won't be long or I won't try
           Em A
I won't be bound to a life out in the cold
D Bm7 G Em
It's been a steady pace, to keep my steps between these cracks on Broadway
Em F#m G A D
And my stride in rhythm to the beat of home sweet home.

(SOLO here. Chords something like G A D G A D, etc.)

             A Bm7
And when I'm down and I'm growin' old, I won't be long or I won't try
           Em A
I won't be bound to a life out in the cold
D Bm7 G Em
It's been a steady pace, to keep my steps between these cracks on Broadway
Em F#m G A ?D ?Bm7
And my stride in rhythm to the beat of home sweet (Can't go on, I'm on the top
                    ?Em A
of my better years. I'm going home. It's too lonesome on the bottom rung here)
D Bm7 G Em
It's been a steady pace, to keep my steps between these cracks on Broadway
Em F#m G A D
And my stride in rhythm to the beat of home sweet home.

Bm7 - 224232 F#m - 244222

You get the idea. Work with it and see what you can come up with. I can't
figure out what she says on the fifth line. I'm not so sure about the F#m,
but it sounds OK to me. If you don't have this album, you should get it!
Alison is a great artist who doesn't get enough recognition, in my opinion!
