Band: Linkin' Park
Song: Somewhere I Belong
Album: Meteora
Words & Music: Chester Bennington, Rob Bourdon, Brad Delson, Joseph Han
               , Phoenix & Mike Shinoda.

Note: I'm not sure about the tuning so I use Drop 1 tuning. It could
be Drop D, Open D or Top Jimmy tuning. You can try it, but I
use Drop 1 tuning and I hate to do the tuning. But if you want to
try these are the codes for the tuning. Drop D - DADGbe, Open D -
DADF#ad, Top Jimmy - DADAcd or one of Linkin' Park's own tuning
C#G#C#F#BbEb. If you use one of these tuning the chords won't be
      the same.

Drop 1 Tuning: D#G#C#F#a#d#

Note: The display after the chord name. ||R is the Root, then the exact
notes used in the chord. Here's the whole shebang
      ||R, d2, 2, m3, 3, 4, d5, 5, a5, 6, b7, 7. That's Root, dim
second, second, minor third, third, fourth, dim fifth, fifth, aug
fifth, sixth, flat seven (7th), seven (maj7). If any display in
this format has an extra (more than one) 2, 5, or 7 in it, i.e.
d22, 5a5, b77, you can usually rule it out. m33 might actually be
something because augmented 9th and minor third are the same
notes example "C seventh sharp ninth" is a valid chord
      C7thaug9w3||Rm335b7.

Note: Umm... the tabs for this song might not be 100% correct because
in the video clip Brad Delson plays the guitar a little
diffrent (I think so...) from what he did during the MTV
Meteora concert. Plus checking out other guitarist' theory on
this song gives me a lot of 'head-spining'. All of them give
diffrent type of tabs. It's just, argh! So I'm just taking bits
      from here and there...
In the intro, for those who don't know what is "p", it is called
      "Pull Off".

      electric guitar.

Verse 1:

d#|----------------
a#|----------------
F#|------------11-- This is your
C#|----------9----- starting point.
G#|----------------
D#|----------------
   When this began,
   I had nothing to say,
And I'd get lost in the nothingness inside of me,
   I was confused,
And I let it all out to find,
That I'm not the only person with this things in mind,
   Inside of me,
But all the vacancy the words revealed,
Is the only real thing that I've got left to feel,
   Nothing to lose,
   Just stuck, hollow and alone,

   Dno3no5
And the fault is my own,
                            Strum the base only.
   Dno3no5
And the fault is my own,

Chorus:

Brad Delson -Dno3no5 Ebno3no5
Mike Shinoda-Fsus4no5 C#5
             I want to heal,

Brad Delson -Fno3no5 Ebno3no5
Mike Shinoda-C#sus4no5 Eb5
             I want to feel,

Brad Delson - Dno3no5 Ebno3no5
Mike Shinoda- Fsus4no5 C#5
What I thought was never real,

Brad Delson - Cno3no5 Bbno3no5
Mike Shinoda- C#5 Eb5
I want to let go of the pain I've held so long,

Brad Delson -Bbno3no5 Dno3no5
Mike Shinoda-Eb5 Fsus4no5
Erase all the pain 'till it's gone,

Brad Delson -Dno3no5 Ebno3no5
Mike Shinoda-Fsus4no5 C#5
             I want to heal,

Brad Delson -Fno3no5 Ebno3no5
Mike Shinoda-C#sus4no5 Eb5
             I want to feel,

Brad Delson - Dno3no5 Ebno3no5
Mike Shinoda- Fsus4no5 C#5
Like I'm close to something real,

Brad Delson - Cno3no5 Bbno3no5
Mike Shinoda- C#5 Eb5
I want to find something I've wanted all along,

Brad Delson - Cno3no5
Mike Shinoda- C#5
             Somewhere I belong,

Note: Same as the first verse.

Verse 2:

And I've got nothing to say,
I can't believe I didn't fall right down on my face,
I was confused,
Looking everywhere,
Only to find that it's not the way I had imagined it all in my mind,
So what am I,
What do I have but negativity,
'Cause I can't justify the way everyone is looking at me,
Nothing to lose,
Nothing to gain, hollow and alone,

Dno3no5
And the fault is my own,
                         Strum the base only.
Dno3no5
And the fault is my own,

Chorus:

             I want to heal,

Note: Listen to the song to get a better understanding, then play it.
Even until today I don't fully understand the song because of
the chords that Brad Delson & Mike Shinoda use is something new
to me. Anyway, you can mail me for any mistake that you want to
correct. After all the time that I've wasted for this song, I
      think I hate this song.

Thanks to Jim Cranwell for notes & names on chords.
Thanks to Chris for guitar tuning & chords notation.
